Blue Pea Tea

Blue Pea  also known as Clitoria ternatea plant’s flower petals or even the entire flower, are used to make blue pea tea which is a caffeine-free herbal tea or tisane. Clitoria ternatea is also known as Asian pigeonwings, Blue Tea Flowers, Aprajita, Cordofan pea, Butterfly Pea. The vivid blue color of the petals of the blue pea flower, which has made the plant a well-liked dye for ages, gives the tea its characteristic hue. One of the characteristics of tea is that the color of the liquid varies depending on the pH level of the substance added to it; for example, adding lemon juice will turn the tea purple.

Health Benefits:-

Tea made from butterfly-pea flowers is supposed to have a calming, earthy flavor. The tea is said to contain stress-relieving properties that might also aid in easing anxiety symptoms. Additionally, it is believed to revive the mind, bolster energy and stamina, impact pleasant emotions, and thereby increase productivity at work.

How to prepare:

Heat water either on the stovetop or in a kettle to a boil, keeping the temperature 72 to 80 degree. Once boiled, place the blue pea flowers in a glass/teapot and cover them with water. Allow it to steep for 4-5 minutes. Then strain the tea from the pot, sweeten it, and enjoy. For better taste add 0.5g of Tea World purple tea with blue pea and then strain the tea from the pot, sweeten  and enjoy.
